Clear pale/medium gold; clean medium plus nose of lemon, apple, caramel, grapefruit pith, orange zest and blossoms; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is fruit forward with noticeable pith and addition of melon; long finish; harmonious balance of fruit and tertiary - drinking beautifully now; what a fabulous wine - so much better than our first bottle - what a difference 5 years makes

Lovely Chenin richness and finesse in this butterfly. Baumards Papillon in the 2011 vintage bursts of spicy yellow fruits like nectarine, apricot, apple and grapefruit. Telltale aromas of lanolin, honey, beezwax, honey, safforon and hints of flint. Rich and spicy yellow stonefruit, strong minerality and balanced acidity on the palate. Complex and powerful, with a long, balanced, mineral driven finish. Elegant power-Chenin, this one.

On est loin du superbe 2009 ici. Plutôt muet et mince même à la limite. Déception cette bouteille!

Bon sans plus. Ne vaut pas son prix. On est loin du château Yvonne pour du bon chenin.

Too much reduction on opening but otherwise excellent. For me, let it breathe for a couple hrs.

Very smoky on the nose. Fruity and open taste. Crunchy mouthfeel and a bit bitter finish.

Wine and Spirits Top 100 tasting - 2015 (The Metreon, SF) : Burnt wet wool, slight botrytis, slight honey, bruised apple oxidation (slight). If I were doing this blind… there’s slight RS - maybe 4-7g/L, but the elevated alcohol (14%) would take me to Savennieres over Vouvray. Gorgeous. Score: Around 9.
