Disgorgement 09/2022 Black bread, cranberry, nuts, coffee, minerality

At la Repubblica in Perno 2018 base. A spicy Meunier more than Chardonnay driven nose with toast, chalk and some quinine. Mid weighted with a fine bead and more spice notes on the palate. It's fleshy and lacks a little snap and freshness to make it truly special. Finishes clean with good cut. I would like to try this is a more focused year.

A new Grower to me for 2025. Interesting cépage of 80% Pinot Meunier and the rest Chardonnay. Disgorged 03/19. Delicate and refined nose of pear, wet slate, sourdough loaf, crushed dried spice and a hint of honeycomb wafting up. Racy on the attack it opens up nicely in the mid-palate with deceptive weight and a rich and velvety mousse. Decent acidity throughout along with a nicely poised finish. This is an impressive showing and a producer to follow.

Still think this is a great find. Drank over the course of the week. Preferred it after day 1, the flavors really start to come out. Stored in the fridge with a champagne stopper—kept its fizz and its flavor.

Blin is a new find for me and I think I like it. More PM than I usually go for but this is fresh and bright. Nice apples and wet stones. I think I prefer the Varoce but this is very enjoyable and great price.

Pleasant but a bit forgettable. But a pretty good QPR at $55.

Disgorged 05/2019. This was a bit more of a coppery performance this time around, with golden raisin and grilled lemon notes providing the lion share of the flavor profile. Notes of red apple flesh, wet granite, and bark add interest. Medium intensity. Finishes slightly round but certainly flavorful. Light Chardonnay character, very slightly nutty and floral. Gentle, creamy, very drinkable. Nice and fresh.

Disgorged 05/2019 after 24 months on lies. I am a bit unsure of the actual composition of this wine since the producer's website indicates that it was at least initially 20% chardonnay & 80% pinot meunier. Yet, the back label on my particular bottle clearly indicates that all three major champagne varietals went into the assemblage, and that is ultimately what I both smell and taste in the glass. Lovely yellow and tropical fruits, ripe but the overall style of this champagne is very straight. Crisp freshness and a bright acidity put this exotic juice into focus mode. A racy yet exuberant gentleman.

2015 base; disgorged 2019 with 40 months on the lees. 80/20 Pinot Meunier/Chardonnay. Pours a golden-bronze, slightly red hued color. The nose is mostly muted and overrun by the effervescence. Allowed to breathe a bit in a Riedel Vitis Bordeaux stem, the bubbles backed-off and allowed a beautiful array of flavors to emerge.
