Drank in a restaurant, this was highly enjoyable, with excellent acidity and precision.

Quite light-bodied and refreshing, with red apple and a touch of creamy oatmeal leading into a precise citrus finish.

Impressive Chardonnay with more than a nod to the old world, drinking well now with some ripe and almost tropical fruit and great acidity to balance it out. A tough of bitterness comes out after a while, maybe it can develop a little more ?

Very good. On the Chablis/reductive spectrum. Plenty acidity, very clean, some citrus, touch of pineapple. Touch of white asparagus. Good length. Has intensity without heaviness.

Altogether different beast from bottle opened yesterday This was pure delight, floral smooth and like the best white burgundy I’ve ever had - 5 stars

I would have this down as a premier cru burgundy if tasted blind. Some flint on the nose, quite mineral and focused but with some apple and creamy oak, all in balance.

Light pale gold, long legs, this wine almost sparkles in appearance. Quite smokey/sulfuric on the nose, with bit of brioche, toast and candied pineapple, this wine drinks like a chablis. An incredible find at a great price.

Stoney mineral notes, apples and citrus element. On the palate I also get some tropical fruit elements and some toffee. Oak and tannins noticeable but not overwhelming.

I liked this better in 2015 so maybe it's on the decline. Still drinking well though.

Sunday BBQ (Chicago, IL) : Served double blind (but known to be chardonnay). Really nice reduction on the nose, but that's the only thing interesting here. The rest of this is the vinous embodiment of boring. Watery and dilute, unfocussed and vapid. I've liked the chardonnays in the past, but this one is really pointless.

This wine is light gold with long legs in the glass . An initial smokey quality dissipates to leave a back note of gunflint and seashells, with aromas of peardrops, crushed pineapple , peaches and hints of toastiness. Acidity is surprisingly high, with flavours of green apples and under ripe white peaches, finishing off with hints of barley sugar and minerality. Somewhat in the style of an oaked Chablis, this makes for an excellent food wine , and should develop …

Very pale lemon. Medium + intensity nose of flint, citrus peel, lemon, smoke, vanilla. Developing. High acidity, medium alcohol, very mineral and taught but long finish. Excellent. Like a good Chablis.

Tasted at The Wine Society Americas tasting, London. I'm familiar with this wine and I continue to like it, though I think this 2015 vintage is a little more oakier than the 2014. Medium gold colour, the nose shows oak and not so much fruit at the moment, I hope that will change given a little more time (TWS recommends drinking now to 2025). This chardonnay needs food. It's rich and quite long.

Wonderful nose, struck match and hints of orchard fruits. Quite a snappy acidity bringing the fruit through with just a touch of citrus zest and finishing long.

J'y reviendrai.

Consistent with my note of June 2016. Delicious individual wine with real personality. I would decant it well in advance however. Both my notes are from day two. Upon opening this just tastes like sour French white wine and like so many quality Chards, only really blossoms after being open for 24hrs.

Tasted Double Blind. I knew there was a Rhys Chardonnay at this tasting and I wondered if this might be it. This pours on the darker side of the flight. The nose shows binned apple, caramel, burlap, and nutshells. Evidently this must have been exposed to some oxygen at some point in the winemaking. On the plus side the palate has great acid and an enjoyable finish.

Two tumbs up ! 91++

J'aime bien. Un peu trop de bois et un peu cher pour ce que c'est mais c'est un Chardo agréable à boire. Bon fit avec un saumon en croûte sauce homardine.

A cool mouthful of sweet waxy lemons with a distinctly spicy finish. There's also a sort of oaty/mealy texture on the midpalate which just adds to the complexity of flavour and texture of this wine. It is unfiltered and so there are a few small bits floating around in the glass but once again, it all adds to the experience. This is about as far from a mass produced chardonnay as you can get. Yes I know it's £23 a …

Salil does Chicago 2; 4/6/2016-4/10/2016 (Chicago, IL) : Bottled under screw cap, this was initially really, really reduced. To the point that I might have called PYCM St. Aubin on it if served to me blind (keep in mind, I just drank a flight of those last week). Lots of bracing acidity and really tasty green fruit. Mouthwatering and really delicious -- and on top of that, it has all the right reductive matchstick notes that I love. Really great …

Fresh, vibrant nose with Pineapple and toffee. A bit more toasty on the second day. It’s a flavoursome wine, but also a nice lean-ish style. It’s creamy with popcorn and nougat characters, but very fresh and light on its feet. Touch of spice on the finish. Lovely.

Atkin Chardonnay Comparative tasting (Lismore) : (Tasted Blind): Mid+ yellow hue with a striking struck match aroma along with an array of yellow and white fruits with a hint of smoke or smoking gun. It is similar to the New Zealand style of Dog Point and carries that cooler climate badge, too. As it opened to remove its reduction, it gave the fragrance of tangerine peel being pulled apart - that oil fragrance! The entry follows with a raked-back, flinty-edged …

Pays homage to Chablis. Nutty with some lemon and pear. County minerality and well balanced. Loving all that Hardie does these days and he's now putting himself well above his County peers.

A Visit to Norman Hardie : This pours a moderate golden straw yellow. The nose is rich leaning with mint, toasted almond, marshmallow, candied lemon peel, burn sugar and poached pear. The palate is nice with high acid and a pinch of marshmallow sweetness. The finish is medium in length replaying the burn sugar notes. Quite enjoyable.

Mid straw. Fresh nose with a hint of greenness. Quite sharp on the attack before it rounds out a little on the front of the mid palate, and then it thins and drops away a bit before showing really quite sharply on the finish with a persistent mineral edge slightly marred by a sense of greenness not unlike a GG Riesling. ***
