Really delicious Napa floor valley Cab. This wine has softened nicely over the past 12 months and is drinking in its prime. Well balanced with fully integrated tannins and acidity. Great blue/black fruit profile with loamy mouthfeel/

Wow, how a year makes a difference. It certainly wasn’t average the first go around but has developed and removed some rough edges. This surprised me and shows a relative newbie the value of cellaring. Well balanced for the most part with tannins coming through at the end. 3 hour decant.

same rating as before. gave it a 3-hr decant. Color is deep. taste is rhubarb, mocha, some leather, hint of black pepper. structure is there but not intense. pretty solid balance wine with long finish

Beautiful nose. still pretty tight but there is incredible potential here. Long complex finish. Decanted for 1/1.30 hrs as I couldnt wait. Needs at least 2 hours. will taste again in a few months

Beautiful berry on the nose, slight tobacco. Well balanced, smooth and velvety mouth feel. Very nice. Looking forward to trying again after some time.

Really nice wine, drank over two nights. Lots of chocolate/mocha, with a lot of similarities to Las Piedras which is down the road from Anomaly. No change from my previous ratings.

Did virtual tasting with winery. Vertical of ‘15, ‘16 and ‘17. The ‘16 had a beautiful nose of red fruits and a bit of mocha. Taste was very much in line with Cabs from this vintage - bright red cherry, plum and a bit of cassis. Long finish. Very balanced and beautiful wine that is drinking great now but would benefit from a few more years in the bottle.

Same experience as noted in my tasting at the winery in June. Can benefit from a couple hour decant (nothing major), but relatively ready to go. Very nice style, worth the price of admission. Can't wait for my Designations to show up soon.

Up the PCH; 6/4/2019-6/16/2019 (Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Paso Robles, Napa, and Willamette) : Tasted alongside the 2014 and 2015. Surprisingly ready to drink. The smooth tannins allow you to drink this rich, berry-filled wine now, but certainly will age eloquently over the next 5-8 years, perhaps longer if the '16 fruit holds up. Still pretty primary, but drinking nicely with a good balance of exuberant fruit and darker barrel notes with zippy acids and subdued tannins. Polished and squeaky clean, it stood up well to skirt steaks with chimichurri.

If you have it, drink it. This wine is ready to roll. No flaws. No sediment. Perfect cork, great color and crystals. Moderate rim variation. Great florals. Great nose. Perfect cabernet. Low tannin and acid. Medium alcohol. Long finish. Paired perfectly with grilled filet mignon on the green egg. At Peak. This is a beast of a wine. Enjoy.

Decanted for 1.5 hours. Lots of sediment in the bottle. Rich dark fruit, hints of vanilla. Really opened and evolved over the next three hours.

(A-) Drinking nicely. Needs about an hour to begin being available, and improves from there. Nice dark fruit with an elegant, creamy mouthfeel. Tannins are there, but very smooth. Acid seems lacking until the very back of the sides of the tongue, where it slowly takes over the mouthfeel to leave you wanting another sip. Touch of charcoal and wood. Hold.

This has really nice violet and floral elements to it, along with fresh blackberries, black cherries, light spices, and some blue fruit. Medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins that are mostly resolved. Good balance. It improved slightly with after a couple minutes in the glass and started to decline with extended aeration. On the moderately elegant side of the Napa Valley spectrum. It's definitely in a great spot now and should hold a few more years.

Dark glass tinting deep ruby color that is solid through the core with little variance in the corona and crowned with a watery rim. Viscosity is medium-plus, day bright reflections and high concentration. This is in need of serious air time to allow aromas to blossom. Deep and dark on the nose with dark blackberries, fruitcake, smoke, dark currant, burnt sugar, redwood and sage aromas that are like a heavy coat over the ancillary notes of earth, cassis, spice, vanilla …

Napa Valley Golden Ticket Weekend (Elysian Hotel - Chicago, IL) : Ripe red fruit. Plush and decadent. A nicely made wine. Indicative of the vintage no doubt. Still a bit steep on the pocket, but solid nonetheless.
