Hoffmann-Simon Sauvignon Blanc

More and more Mosel winemakers add Sauvignon Blanc to their offering, but most don't reach for the stars there, the typical goal is to have a clean, fruity, fun white wine that is not Riesling. Having said that, this is one of the better efforts I've tasted so far. Positively surprised. We tasted this at the winery by the glass, only ~2 weeks after bottling. And the Mosel is not the traditional address for Sauvignon Blanc. But the wine is excellent: fresh, round, fruity, with zest, and just about as much of sauvignon blanc herbality which is a plus. Excellent balance. A fun wine with substance: an everyday wine as good as it gets. For EUR 8,50, this is a steal. Recommended.
