This grew a branch or two since the last time I tasted it! Still a nice wine with lots of mixed berries, some tobacco and food friendly zing, just too much oak at this point (which became more pronounded on day 2). Hoping the wood will calm down in a year or so.

AIS tasting, 2006-03-14 Dark purple core, ruby red rim, dense. On nose, intense fruit and floral character. On palate, fruit, flowers, a little coffee, chocolate, vanilla and spice; sweet sensation which may or may not include some RS; big, soft grape tannins and some subtle oak tannins; high acidity, high alcohol (label says 14.5%). Smooth, rich, concentrated. Moderate length and complexity.
