In a great spot now. Black cherry, warm dark soil, dark chocolate, light roast coffee, bay leaf, oak, and a little porcini to remind you that it’s 18 years from bottling. Still a solid, but well integrated structure with tannin and acid in balance. Zero rush to drink these if you’ve got them - just approaching early maturity. A bit tight out of the bottle but really smoothed out after the first hour. Delicious now but could handle a few more years of ageing. Dark cherry with a more oaky finish. Delicious!
