Three hour decant on the second bottle of this vintage I have tried, different elements shown out for me this time around with red licorice in the lead and the leather and tobacco elements further behind. The tannins were more integrated and a black olive tinge has reared its head. This is the best syrah out of this region I have had and is well within its drinking window. Three hour decant, very dark purple in the glass, the nose is potent with dark fruit, deep leather and very strong tobacco elements. The palate is on the strong side with tannins in a positive way with balanced acidity, the dark fruit continues as does the leather and tobacco with a very interesting ocean salt element that comes into play. To start off, I'll say it's Damn good. Tried after a 3 hour decant. Very rich nose with leather, and varying fruit notes. The taste is on the complex, savory side with deep plumb notes. This is a very nice wine. I have to hunt down more bottles.

popped and poured , very juicy bomb of a wine , nothing terribly interesting , not my thing …..24 hours in a decanter the wine was in a much better place . less overpowering , less alcohol , smoother all around….nice wine
