Aromas of stewed prunes and rust with slight oxidation. Used the Coravin which lead to a ton of fine, suspended sediment making the wine appear quite cloudy. The palate is slightly livelier for sure with some red and black cherry fruit as well as some garden herbs and tilled earth. Chocolate. Past prime, so drink up. 88 Tatiana says 92 (she always loves this type of wine)

Stunning deep garnet with a Brilliant ruby core. Spicy tobacco and mulberries with hints of red cherries on the nose. Soft and velvety with notes of tobacco, red cherries, pomegranate, with strong acids and a funky red plum and raspberry finish . Tasty.

Very good aroma profile but the taste lacks density and complexity.

mature Bordeaux wine evening (at Shaul Hod's) : Appearance: Deep ruby with garnet reflections, indicating its maturity. Nose: A complex bouquet featuring aromas of dark red plums, violets, hints of licorice, and earthy minerality. Additional notes of tobacco, chocolate, and spice enhance its aromatic profile. Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a silky texture. Flavors of blackcurrant, cocoa, and savory hints of mushroom are complemented by sweet red fruit compote. The wine exhibits ripe tannins and a long, elegant finish. Excellent!

My second bottle tasting in as many weeks. Interestingly, I enjoyed this bottle much less than the last one, which was much more flavorful. I guess I'll have to try a third to see which was the "outlier."

92-93. One hour decant. This was jammin! Smooth and delicious and right bank heaven. 20 years old but tastes so fresh. Old world delight. Cork was in great shape. Some sediment that I filtered off

This was a delicious journey! I tasted it along the way as I decanted it and it changed quite a bit. Oak was REALLY present when I opened it (cedar, smoke, chocolate). Then dark fruits and some perfumey-florals came out. Firm tannins to start. An hour in, lots of earthiness, leather, clay and some violet. On the palate dark cherry, licorice and menthol notes. A couple hours in it mellowed some and was more integrated. More fruit and less perfume …

Recently, I've been drinking wines that require a LOT of time in the decanter to open up. This wine was very much the opposite. Delicious and very drinkable immediately upon opening the bottle. Even better after 15 - 30 minutes in the decanter. Pretty much flat and uninteresting 2 hours later. Upon opening, I was struck by a variety of notes that made me think of a tawny port. If someone had told me this wine had been aged in …

Lovely overall. Dried strawberries and cassis. A 1.5 hour decant helped. Wish I had more bottles.

Based on the other reviews, I gave this wine some air in the bottle and the glass, and glad that I did. Needed 2 hours to open up, and was at its best after 3 hours. Not as good on Day 2. I don't see this improving, but still has some life left

A bit funky out of the bottle with loads of sediment. Filtered and decanted for 90 minutes to yield a fine Bordeaux. Lots of dark fruit and tannins - this one can lay down a little longer IMO

Disappointing given both the vintage and producer. Decanted and enjoyed with food. Cloudy deep ruby with garnet edges. Closed initially, starts to come around after about 30 minutes of air; initially shows very "plummy" aromatics and flavors. It never really got going; seemed like the acidity had disappeared and there was very little in the way of freshness, structure or finish. I have another bottle which I'll drink within the next year.

horrible. well past its prime. red brick color. lots of sediment in the bottle, which isnt necessarlily a bad thing. but this wine tasted like prune juice ok, it was just one bottle. tried anothe bottle 2 days later and its just fine.

Pleasant nose of ripe plump berries, sandalwood, cedar pencil shavings, and a distinct gamey note. Palate has more of the same, with a core of ripe berries. I feel like there’s a little less intensity than I was hoping for. It’s good, some interesting notes, felt like it was missing a little something for me.

Beautiful aged St. Emilion. Bouquet of dark berries, some tobacco and forest floor. Medium to full bodied palate with gripping but fine tannins and quite some future ahead. No need to hurry…

Deep purple color. Tasted over two nights. Rich aromas of dark berries, blueberries and blackberries. Based on the aromatics, this seems to be heavy on Merlot (as it is since it is usually 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet franc). Some cedar elements and a little bit of fun funkiness. This is still relatively young and tannic, even on day 2 of consumption. Very concentrated wine with good length. Probably best to wait another 5 to 10 years before drinking more …

Cassis, forest floor, bit of smoke on the nose. Maybe some fresh nutmeg... Palette started off boisterous, and maintained it somewhat even with substantial (hours in a ship's decanter) breathing. Half way through the breathing, a chalk-forward start to the palatte took a dominant stance, and then in the 2-3rd hour, that integrated into a more cohesive palette. When well breathed, the nose presages the backbone of the palatte -- it opens with an explosion of dark fruit: cassis, huckleberry, …

Prior bottle was 3 years ago and this wine continues to show quite well. Black cherry and plum on the nose along with earth, cassis and lead pencil. Between medium and full bodied with the upfront black cherry notes continuing to show good expression and roundness. Mid-body is silky and open now with slightly darker black cherry and a light touch of plum. The middle doesn't add additional density, but the wine is consistent in weight throughout. Backside adds blackberry …

Out of magnum, decanted for about an hour into two decanters then poured back into bottle for travel to a friends house. Nose was gorgeous, floral and fresh. Tannins fully-resolved turning the wine into a silk. Very little mid palate and an abrupt finish but a great bottle in what is probably at its peak. Drink up.

Amazing! A big improvement on previous bottle as I was thinking this wine was starting to fade but nope, huge nose with such a long length & great concentration of fruit.

The bouquet of this St Emilion is so huge and forward with fermented soya bean, old cabinet, stewed blackfruits and undergrowth. Very tertiary notes. Same aromatics on the palate. Medium-bodied. Transition to finish is somewhat chalky. Finish is still grippy. Promising nose but let down by the finish.

Still going strong, a few bottles left so will continue to hold them. Soft/velvet tannins, tertiary but great fruit balance still.
