Aromas are shy at first, suggesting a basket of sticky black berries and toasted spices. Scent gathers slowly in the direction of pretty, Nebbiolo-typical sensations, of leaf, truffle, wild berries, and stirred woodland. The drink is more eventful. It leads broadly—ink, comfort—before a massive front of ripe tannin attenuates otherwise considerable richnesses. I pause over exogenous wood flavor to note the luxuriant quality and authenticity of this oak. In terms of flavor and structure, this wine is immature, an elaborate …

Still very tannic. Lots of candied fruits can help on the nose with an earthy pallette. Will probably put away the last bottle until 2025

Odds were that the item immediately preceding would put this at a disadvantage, but no. Age-appropriately scented of berries and seasoned cask. It’s worth falling into a cup of this drink. Blue fruits. Intricate weavings of spice and brined rosemary. Tannins, fine and fierce. (Why was I expecting coconut-flavored Nebbiolo?) Repetition: these tannins are accumulating and encroaching. It’s a dry, sticky micron-gauge velcro that nearly disables my palate. Repetition: Salty berry skin leather. Ripe black grapes collapsing in the sun. …

I don’t care for this. It has a taste of cigars and brandy or something. And it burns my throat.

In a really good window. Balances vibrancy and freshness of youth along with secondary characteristics that come with age. Has plenty of life ahead of it. Tarry ripe cherry raspberry, graphite and asphalt on the nose. Tight and focused on the palate, with fine grained tannins. Stuck the cork back in and put into the fridge for consumption the next day. Wine was actually a little better on night 2. Filled out some on the palate.

Well. Third bottle of four. First was really good, needed time. Second was a bit disappointing. This was terrific. The vintage is supposed to be really good, this lives up to it.

I was a bit disappointed based on other notes. Decanted this for about an hour, based on the drinking window. This did have a darker color than many Barbarescos. Tons of sediment. Some bright cherries by the third pour, but it was quite muted at first. Not bad, but not great. I think I will wait a while before I try another.

91 poeng. For nå.

Perfumed nose. Deep garnet color with slight brick rim. Full body. Very tannic. Dark fruit, marmalade, and cinnamon, but still very primary and young. Wouldn't touch again for 1-2 years.

Lighter color, a bit of reddish orange. Nose has light red fruit and a bit of oak. Palate is restrained with medium acid and strong tannins.

Initially, tight and tart with little fruit and a lean body. I doubt that more time in the cellar will help. I stand corrected. This wine needs to breath for an extended period and then it evolves into a completely different creature - elegant and balanced with a long finish.

Smells great. Ripe fruited, powerful, loads of black cherry, and then tons of structure and tightness. Just opened.

Aroma: smoky tobacco, leather and dark red fruit. Palate: medium-bodied, tannic cherry flavors with notes of leather, cedar and graphite. Moderate acidity. Quite complex but needs aging.

Intense nose precedes a massive wine characterized by dark, tart black cherry, the "big fruit" you expect from new world wines, and a light tarry finish. The overall impression is sweetness and Hard to fathom this is nebbiolo. I loved this but my wife prefers refinement and just can't get past the big sweet taste. A Barbaresco for the Napa Cab lover!

Popped and poured at a restaurant. Dark, vibrant garnet color, unexpected for a Nebbiolo. A little taut out of the bottle, quiet nose, lots of tannins on the palate. But as it took on air, the nose blossomed with red fruits and floral notes. The palate gained balance, red fruits and good structure, some spice, some darker fruit, plums. Long finish. Needs more time in the bottle, but should be an elegant Barbaresco with some bottle age.

Another showing, similar notes to first time, but it shows very big structure compared to some Barolos right before it. Big for a Barbaresco, modern style for New World drinkers. Massively dry, great QPR, needs a meat!

Medium plus nose shows red flowers, cut roses, fresh earth, baking spice, cranberry, red plum. Palate is grippy first, classic high tannins, high acidity, alcohol doesn't show hot, fruit comes second, gives dried cherry, dried red plum, potting soil, hint of tar. Pretty approachable though for it's youth. Bet it's great with a ribeye. QPR makes it a great intro to the region/nebbiolo for new fans.
