- Brick color with fast forming legs and aromas of moldy, oak and licorice anise. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of black pepper and grapefruit with a medium/full body. Linear texture with a long finish.

Probably past its prime. Some red fruit! A little pepper. Smooth, but lots of sediment. Nice, but not very exciting.

Big, rich Napaesque black and blue zin fruit, with that distinct black raspberry old vine flavor. Turns liquerish in weight and picks up a bit of iodine with time in the glass.

I was worried after reading the reviews that I had waited too long. Not to worry. It has not reached its peak. Lots of spice, depth and character. This is what Zin is all about. This was stored at 57 degrees since released.

Drinks ok but lack of fruit makes this seem like its past its prime. Expected more from it...

Balanced fruit and heat with notes of pepper. Very enjoyable, worked with food and by itself. Mellowed noticeably after an hour of air time.

Recommend decanting to let it open. Light raspberry and peppery flavor. Very nice.

Hits it with a one hour decant. Tart, juicy rasberry, light spice and pepper, medium tannin, dry, leathery finish. Oak is apparent but still overall very balanced given some time to open up. Update: drank over 3 days and stayed smooth, juicy with pleasant grip.

Even though this bottle was a bit dated, it drank very well. It needed to breathe a bit initially, but was very good one it opened up. I need to buy more Zin from them.

Pop and pour with Big Green Egg beer can chicken. Wine had notes of light red fruit; raspberry, hint of strawberry. Accentuated by some spice and light oak. Smooth tannins and good acidity. Light finish.

Got this at a N&N tasting several years ago, and I think it was better when it was young. The fruit had really mellowed, and I'm afraid this wine may be on it's way downhill. Decanted for 2 hours before drinking, and I think it might have needed more. Color was deep, dark purple with some brown hues. Nose was full and strong with some spice to it and plenty of earth. Paired with some moderately spicy Moroccan food and …

Fruit and spice right up front, but not syrupy. Smooth like you'd expect from a wine at this price, but not a good QPR.

A lovely wine (which I rarely say when referring to a Zinfandel) with finesse and elegance. Lighter aromas of cherry, pepper dusted currant and some zesty spice. Culty qualities that come across as plush, creamy and not overbearing. The finish shows feminine qualities that I don't often experience in a higher end Red Zin. I think the few years in the bottle helped the alcohol come into balance with the massive amount of ripe fruit. Great wine.

Really light for a Zinfandel - not that heavy high alcohol buzz; well balanced; really nice over two days; Some smoke on the finish

Very welcoming berry and spice nose and flavor. Bit of earth and smoke to give a distinctive layer to the fruit flavors. Finishes with white pepper and cocoa.

Decanted for approximately 15 minutes. Ate with spicy Korean food. Initial smell was of figs and berries but not overpowering. Initially, the wine taste had a slightly acidic note, continued fig and blackberry taste, finished with a more smokiness and pepper-taste. A very juicy wine that had a beautiful color. Excellent wine!

Evolved with air. Vanilla, cherries, were among other nose pleasing aromas. Not over the top with fruit in the mouth, but fairly round. The finish was somewhat reminiscent of Sea Smoke "Southing".

Paired with roasted rack of lamb, not bad, but it's still too young. I'll hold the balance of my bottles for another year.

A real earthy zinfandel. Notes of red berries, smoked meat, and earth. Some minerality. A complex zinfandel from a nice single vineyard producer. For $40 it's barely worth the cost. Not as berry forward as I prefer in my zins, but still enjoyable.

Needs lots of air, will definitely benefit from another year in the cellar. Paired with ribeye steaks, homemade parmesean spinach & garlic bread...wow. Score could soar to 90, but only time will tell.

Pleasing red fruits and berries. Oak is nicely integrated. Tannins create a great mouthfeel. Graceful for a Zinfandel.
