Foivos Mavrodaphne Nautilus red submerged

After an hour of air I was very surprised. Medium acid and tannins. Plum with a touch of cranberry... very drinkable, great price point, wish I had more than 2 bottles left.

Funky nose, but not in a bad way. Cigar box with a bit of black pepper, and deep purple ripe plums. Low tannins, light easy drinking. Will have this with fish tonight. Oddly enough I like it!

Off taste, herbal, metallic. Not necessarily a bad wine, just different. It’s more palatable few hours after opening. I have few more bottles, will wait a while to try again. 7/10

Started quite funky, light red color, slight bouquet, opened up with more depth and longer finish, fascinating grape flavors, definitely offbeat, drank with grilled chicken, corn on the cob and grilled Georgia peaches and Vidalia onions, will drink again as I have another bottle.

Oinorama Wine Fair 2019; 3/2/2019-3/3/2019 (Zappeio) : This a pure Mavrodaphne fermented in inox tanks and kept under water for a few months (can’t remember how long they said). Full gamey, showing red and black fruit, soft in the palate, earthy, gamey with red and black fruits, nice tannins, easy, medium finish.
