Weil Gräfenberg vertical 2005-2010 (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein) : Glass: Gabriel Standard Bottle opened about 2-3h before tasting. Drunk over multiple hours. Obviously the most complicated vintage, but still very good for the circumstances. Clear, deep golden color with an amber hue. Spicy, botrytis driven nose, deep and with a recognizable Gräfenberg pattern. Fully mature, lots of exotic fruit, noticeable residual sugar, very mineral, medium length, medium body. Full or a bit past peak. Drink. 90-91

Weil Gräfenberg vertical 2003-2013 (Restaurant 360 Grad, Limburg/Lahn) : Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Nose with caramel and botrytis notes. Round and with a nice energy, but it can't deny the 2006 botrytis driven vintage. Good length. Drink up. 89

Has become slightly more complex, but at the same time lost its freshness, being replaced by pineapple and white peach.

The colour is almost orange; the taste a bit like an aged half-sweet wine. Was there botrytis in this wine, like in many other 2006’s? I kind of liked the wine, but it is not what i’d expect from an aged dry top riesling.

Round, full, concentrated, yet with a precise lime-fruit acidity and a good mineral core. A point, I think; very good indeed right now. #WiesbadenSeeYouSoon

The nose is fantastic - some petrol, tropical fruit and white flowers. Very balanced on the palate but not that sweet - like a GK Auslese but jo more than that. Very nice nonetheless.

Golden colour. Nose: Petrol, rich lemon, some lime and a hint of lychee. With more air the petrol intensifies and is accompanied by wet stone minerality - classical mature Rheingau Riesling nose. Taste: Quite rich / full bodied. Typical Riesling fruitiness with lemon / lime / citrus, minerality, some stone fruit bitterness. Keeps improving for 2 days after opening, building body, richness and oiliness. The acidity also becomes "purer" and more articulate. An initial slight "tired" and burnt bitterness note, …

Deep color. Rich nose, some petrol, candied lime, lemon, strawberries (!), litchi and some herbs. Great intensity in the mouth, with excellent acidity even two days after opening. Very long, the last glass was the best (yet again!). This bottle was far more developed than my previous, blind I would easily have guessed 90s GG. Some botrytis?

Some deepening of colour, on the nose it's complex with elements of citrus, lanolin, tropical fruit and a hint of petroleum. In the mouth it behaves very harmoniously and elegantly, delivering its impact in a linear and long curve. Excellent stuff!

No formal notes; just for the record. Concentrated, tropical fruits as well as some petrol . Some bitterness also. Good wine. Would like to try again. I did not score the wine, but 90+ for sure.

Very good wine, although not as good as the 2004. Still far too young. Very dense and concentrated, and with soaring acidity. It should probably last at least twenty years.

A Weekend in Excess; 1/20/2012-1/21/2012 (Trondheim, Norway) : Fresh and clean on the nose, some minerals and lime; wonderful structure and length, intense, some spiciness, and some botrytis? Great wine.

Pre-BOD celebration (Imperial Treasure @ Great World City) : Alcohol :: 8% A.P. 3 400 30 11 07. From a 375ml and opened for at approx 7hrs before served. Dark golden. Focus and fullish aromas of fresh honey coated yellow fruits complexity: ripe lemon, mango, banana, peaches, preserved plum and touch of secondary petroleum note. Clearly Auslese for the weight and depth and though not outstanding, there is purity and clarity in this wine. The sugar level for 2006 German …

Lunch by Hans Horberth * with Weil, Reinhartshausen and Johannishof (Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival Hattenheim, Germany) : Lovely youthful floweriness and fruit, lots of finesse, rectilinear, very clean, playful acidity, long.
