Color is maturing to brownish ruby. Light barely shone through. Nose of crushed chewable vitamin C. Weighty palate. Sweet fruit with plenty of tingle/life. Medium plus tannins and alcohol, medium acid. Still has good balance though some will be sensitive to the alcoholic heat in the finish. Flavors starting to maderize so I wouldn’t hold this too much longer. Still exciting today.

Very good. PnP, at first it seamed a bit strange, however a little breathing opend it up. Lots of dried fruit, prunes, dark fruit on the palate. Later it showed more notes of liquorice, dark berries, peppar. Nice complexity. Medium+ finish.

Time to drink up on this one. Quite big farmyardy vegetable smells at first but later more balanced and the big quite clunky tastes worked well with cheese

On it's own, 30 minute decant: deep, spicy, alcoholic. Some nice cherry underneath but big, ripe and a little hard. Hour decant, with braised beef and onion: much more open now, softer, violets, garrigue, dark fruits, cherry, complex. Very good. Felt it turn a little after an hour and a half. Even better after 5 hours: rich liquorice, spice, still fruity.

Dry, medium bodied with plenty of red cherries on both nose and palate. As this was tasted blind, initially wondered if it was Grenache based but the body felt too light and there was an odd smell and taste which led us to guess pinotage. We were surprised it was a CdP. Does not suit our palate.

I forgot I had had this before. I spent several hours visiting with this trying to decide if it was poor or flawed until I saw my last note - because it was nearly the same. This one was questionable for VA because it had a nail polish like finish. Too much otherwise just like my last note. I really wanted to like my own, years cellared wine. Really another poor showing. 75

Rather dull and uninteresting. Nothing obviously wrong with it, but the nose was indistinct, the fruit rather muted, and the acidity a bit lacking for my palate. Maybe at an awkward intermediate stage between youth and maturity?

Wine Education Service - Châteauneuf du Pape and Satellites (LSE) : Just translucent, quite aged. Fruity nose with some vegetal notes, prunes, toffee, complex and lovely. Definitely mature, no fruit, drink now, not unattractive.

The nose is VERY muted, just the slightest hint of coffee grounds. The palate shows muted plums, cherries, & earth. Low acid/tannins & next to no finish. Tasted side by side with the 07 which was far better.

Decanted 30 minutes. Dark fruits, cherry, black currant, smooth finish and nose. A decent Chateaunef! A good value for $20 too. I don't know why others had to decant so long or why it was too hot. Alc. at 14.5% was not hot to me though I am sensitive to that aspect.

This was much better than before. Bottle seemed more open than previous one last month, which was totally shut down in comparison. Gave this 6 hours of air (double-decant back to bottle) and totally opened up. Leaving this a few years before next bottle.

Good but seemed quite basic, like a Cote du Rhone Villages or basic New World wine. I didn't decant. I'm hoping that maybe its too young yet and even somewhat closed right now. It certainly seemed very young. Might try again tomorrow night after its had plenty of air. More open on second day but still lacking something. Quite acidic.

Very good - initially a little closed but with an hour or so in the decanter it started to blossom. Quite a lot of complexity, and decent length. No rush to drink - I imagine this will improve with time.

An excellent bottle of wine! Full bodied but not heavy with blackberry, dark cherry, licorice and garrigue flavors. This is a more modern styled CDP with rich, more forward fruit and a moderately, slightly chalky tannic finish with an undertone of white pepper.
