David Coffaro Escuro

Very dark powerful wine. Better with food. More than held its own with a bold sausage pizza with pepers and onions.

Big dark fruit on the nose followed up with a fruit and leather on the palate. Tannins were very evident, it would have been nice to decant this one first but we brought this to a BYO for dinner. Bought this one from the winery and liked the garage feel of the place. It seemed like a place I would like to make wine.

Typical Coffaro. Always a great QPR but gotta drink these young as they are full of stewed fruit after a few years. As for the Escuro, it is deep and dark. Burnt toast, nice dark fruit, copper penny. A quaffer with a great QPR.

Plucked this out accidentally while looking for a more approachable wine. Deep, dark brooding nose with some nice plum fruit with a little leather. Somewhat disjointed on the palate at first but with some time opened into a very good, complex but tannic wine. Will hold off on any future consumption of this wine for a couple years.
