Black fruits on nose, cherry and red fruit on palate. A little sweetness and quite soft and mellow with lowish acidity and tannins. Drinkable but pretty straightforward.

Deep red colour with some fading at the rim. Red fruit on the nose, strawberries, just a touch stewed. Cloves spice but no obvious oak. Mellow, soft smooth tannin, some spicy medicinal notes, North African spices, touch of menthol. This is very nice. I do like a warm climate Bordeaux blend. Unfiltered, uncleared, no sulfites added, directly from the cask. Had the 2015 last year, now the 2016. And again a great and well made wine. Bit less chocolate than last year, more iron, and the tannins are a bit more firm. But again that very fruity character. Cherry, strawberry, mandarin, hints of aniseed. Lovely. I'd say this year the wine is a bit more balanced, but therefore a tiny bit less interesting too. 13%
