Indigena Tasting with Ian D'Agata in Houston. Medium (+) to deep ruby with a garnet rim due to oak aging. The nose is clean, with tart black cherry and blackberry, earth and oak spice. This sees 12 months in large oak barrels. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity, medium tannins, and surprisingly high alcohol (15% but seems lower). This is a full-bodied, more polished expression of Barbera, without the immediacy and youthfulness of the Barbisin.
