Nose of smoke, flint, florals, and citrus. Incredibly elegant, and with a massive acid structure that lends power while being well-integrated.

Majestic, powerful, and brightly focused, this Kupfergrube GG hits all the right notes despite its relative youth. The deep minerality is more evident in the aromas, while the palate has newly grated lemon zest freshness that pushes through from the start to the finish. At the very end there is a pool of endless depth - all swirling power and with enough gravity to pull in everything in its orbit. Steer clear or be captured.

�ber 2 Tage getrunken. Noch sehr jung mit sehr gutem Potential. Zitrus dominiert. Frische, mega S�ure, die sich geradlinig durch den Gaumen zieht. Trinkt sich super und macht Spa�. Potential nach oben.

Reserve bottling released in 2021 which has added some more creaminess and rounded out the acid to this wine. Charming bouquet of lemon zest, mango, passion fruit, mandarine. Soft, gentle, enveloping palate of lemon, yuzu, Meyer lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, over-ripe orange and a little rosemary. Very long finish. I always preferred Hermannsberg over Kupfergrub (this latter was always a little raw for me), but the Reserve bottling shows what potential is locked away in Kupfergrub. It is ready to drink …

Lots of lemon notes on the palate. Fresh and sharp acidity, medium bodied with nice salty mineral notes. Long and savory finish. Enjoyable now but with 6-10 more years of age this will probably be absolutely delicious. If you have the patience wait a little longer.

Tasted next to 2017 Riesling Steinterrassen. Certainly more depth and complexity on both nose and palate. Herbal, mineral, white and yellow stone fruit. very intense and layered, saline, very long. Excellent. 92-93+
