Optischer Eindruck: Klares, intensives rubinrot Geruch: Sauber. Mittlere Aromen von Erdbeere, Himbeere, rote Kirsche, Pfeffer, Vanille. Jugendlich.

In essence this is still a generous and ripe wine, but less powerful and more pure than its predecessors. Loaded with black, sunbaked fruits and dried dates, and it’s earthy and savage, too, as one can expect from a monastrell. Bold, extracted and firmly tannic, yet unforced and compact. Mediterranean, raw power, I love that. Those amazing monastrell-tannins! Tons of flavour and character, lots to enjoy here. Drink now. Burst of fruitiness up front with an unpleasant acidity on the finish. May have been a flawed bottle? Notes of juicy cherry, surrounded by very ripe red apples and a hint of dark chocolate

D+0h: hardly any deposit in the filter, a very big chunk in the bottle, smells of raspberry D+4h: dark as ink, on the rim quite purple red, smells of smoke, eucalyptus, plum and blackberry, light body, smooth in the mouth, has some residual sugar, so is not completely dry, in the mouth blackberry, plum and a little bit of acidity, in the aftertaste blackberry, plum and acidity, good length (30 sec), a really good red for a small price

At Sam’s everyone likes this especially with the lamb. Good for another year or two.

Over three nights...considering the price point $8 it has merit and value to be found. took several hours to open up even after three days. Would revisit and all need to remember the price point and align with realistic expectations.

Toujours intéressant pour le prix, une matière riche avec des tanins présents mais bien intégrés.

An Eric Solomon selection. 100% Spanish Monastrell. Although only $8 purchase a bit thin but does drink above this price point. Drinking very well now if not a past its peak.

So I have had quite a bit of this as my everyday Spanish red and I am a fan of Eric Solomon. Deep red fruits in color and in taste. A bit of cherry there but certainly Old Word style; pencil shavings. Tannins still pretty prominent and this is a better second day wine. Needs food for sure, not what I would call light. Excellent value. I am neutral because I am not high on the grape at 100%. Well …

an amazing selection for $7 and in comparison there truly isn't one in this class. Great QPR, an Eric Solomon selection. 100% Spanish Monastrell, complex structure of fruit of dryness, medium bodied with an enjoyable long finish. On the hunt for more as it is drinking very nicely now....

100% Monastrell or Mourvedre. Aged for 6 months in oak. Wine from Yecla appelation. Vines more than 35 years old. Nice fruity nose with a hint of licquorice. Deep intense black cherry like colour. Served it with tomme de chevre and italian hard cheeses. Liked it

Hat seinen Höhepunkt wohl schon überschritten,Blender, zwar intensive Nase von Brombeere, am Gaumen aber verschlossen, flach, sauer, unausgewogen, es passt nichts zusammen.

Nothing special but nothing bad about this wine. Other reviewers have expressed displeasure but I don't see that level of weakness in this wine. Nothing complex but that is in some cases good so as not to stand in the way or overpower food choices. This is a very serviceable wine that goes well with lighter meat dishes such as pork, perhaps something even a little heavier, such as lamb. Does not deserve the disparaging comments because it pretends not …

A solid, if somewhat uninspiring, wine for the price. Good body and mix of fruity and floral/incense flavors that gives it a complexity beyond its price point.

A medium bodied red. Surprisingly thin legs. Dark cherry color. Lots of fruit on the nose, paricularly dark berries. Get a lot of blueberry in particular on the palate with a hint of blackberry. Nothing to get had over heels for but not something to turn down either.

Some dark fruit on the nose, but masked with a strong alcoholic nose. Once past that, it's a bit angular with some dark fruit, mainly black cherry. On the palate it lacks focus, there is some black cherry, cassis, some vegetal flavors, tomato leaf. Finishes very quickly with fully resolved tannins....overall not an unappealing wine but I don't agree with parker's rating of 91. This is an 84 max....just meh.

Gute 87, fast 88. kein schlechter Wein. Vielleicht haben ihn viele, die ihn schlecht bewertet haben, zu früh getrunken. Daher Flasche min 2 h offen lassen. Guter Begleiter zu Lamm. Runder Geschmack, Brombeere. Madame hat er auch gemundet.

Tough crowd we are. This wine is full of ripe berry flavors with black tea and incense undertones. But the structure is weak. Tannins are soft and acidity is dull. Overripe and uninteresting.

Spanish wines #1001 : Soft, plush fruity nose. Smells cheap. But the mouthfeel is very pleasant, better than expected on the palate. Very mellow on the palate. A good BBQ wine.

Popped and poured. Nose of black cherry, currant, bay leaf, cocoa powder and vanilla. Cherry, currant, herbs and gripping tannins on the palate. Finishes in a rustic style with good persistence. Full bodied. Paired with pasta and marinara sauce.
