Domaine Pierre Labet Meursault Les Tillets

As noted in previous reviews, this is a good but not excellent or outstanding Meursault. The fruit appears to be fading a bit and the acidity is a bit low. Still, an enjoyable wine with shrimp and pasta. That said, I probably should have chosen a good Chablis.

Served at dinner at a local restaurant with scallops and polenta. Crisp white Burgundy with moderate mouthfeel and good finish. As with previous note, this is a very good, but not exceptional Meursault which I will enjoy drinking again and I would buy again.

Served with sautéed scallops. A bit too chilled when first opened. Allowed it to sit out about 45 minutes. Nose was a bit closed in, but initial flavors were of minerals, very light touch of wood, macadamia nuts, a good mouth feel, good acidity, and good length. Altogether a nice, but not great Meursault that went very well with the scallops. Look forward to drinking the remaining bottles over the next year or two.

Tasted immediately after opening. Straw color. Tight nose dominated by minerality. Mineral and citrus flavor. Bracing acidity but it is not out of balance. Smooth mouth feel. A good Meursault and, in the context of Burgundy, an excellent value.
