Azienda Agricola Crasà SRC Etna Alberello

This is totally delicious: delicious, spicy nerello fruit, volcanic soil, fine tannins, delicate but refreshing acid. The depth here is also undeniable: this isn’t a quick hit of fruit, there is a deep syrupy fruit here that is reminiscent of great, traditional Nebbiolo. There is a genuine question as to whether this has enough structure to age for the long run—are the tannins stiff enough for this to be delicious in a decade? However, its vineyard pedigree suggests otherwise.

Lots of pronounced dead volcanic soil balanced by aromatic nose and dark fruits on the palate. Good but not excellent.

Clear dark almost opaque ruby - fresh sweet raspberries, crushed mint leaf, oolong tea and soy notes laced upon tart acids and regal fine-grained brisk tannins that will see this wine through a number of years though absolutely no crime to pull a cork now.
