New Zealand London Annual Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls) : Far more serious as a wine, hearty, spicy, juicy, cinnamon, savory, a touch herbal, nice though. Fine juicy body, fleshy, cinnamon, nice acidity, easy to drink

Similar to previous note but this bottle was a little more balanced.

Screwcap. An interesting flavor profile of sour cherry, strawberry liquor, pure liquorice, and a touch of oak. There's a subtle raisiny quality to the nose, but the palate shows good freshness. An evolving wine in the glass - this bottle became a little disjointed, with the acids showing more prominence and sharpness over time. The 14.5% alc also became more noticeable over a couple of hours. Tannins are slippery and play a minor supporting role. I'm not sure where this …

Great value and really well structured. The quite fruity nose is backed up with some great minerality and some complex earthy elements.

A quite masculine and savory nose, but with some really pretty strawberry and cherry notes as well. A silky smooth mouthfeel with some nice background acidity and some well balanced tannins. A good old world foundation with some definitive Central Otago flourishes. This is a good pinot and at $35 is is punching well above it's weight.

Central Otago Pinot Noir Expo (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street) : Funky nose with toasty oak and a silky tannin palette with an acid backbone and a long spicy finish.

A Review of NZ pinots; 5/14/2010-5/15/2010 (Jade Seafood At forum) : Probably the most expressive and prettiest floral summer fruity nose among the pinots. Very good nose . Nicely made wine showing lightly summery cherries and strawberries. Delectable with finish.

This is a pinot noir with considerable substance and definite Central Otago characteristics. Its palate is what really makes this wine stand out. Very nice throughout with a long finish with classic Central Otago spicy-acidity. Tannins, if they are there, are as silky as can be.
