Strong, smooth, long finish. Great to drink anytime given price point. Very safe choice for a red. Want to keep one on hand.

had with left over ziti from thanksgiving. this wine is big and bold. strong herbacious qualities. held up well in the glass for 30 minutes, then started to fall apart. nevertheless, there is no rush to drink this wine. it can easily go another year. this wine is flying under the radar and has received insufficient attention from the marketplace. will go back to city wine cellar to see if he has more.

Good color, scant nose, a little cherry on the palate. Very simple, a few distracting bitter notes. Drinkable, but nothing special. Better wines out there at this price point.

relatively rich and ripe fruit with some structure and length. Very stylish for a modest wine. Wish I had more.

Had with spaghetti carbonaro and wine matched very well...Dark ruby color, flavorful cherryfruit, short pleasant finish...good bargain at $9.

color: purple; nose: oak, mushrooms; taste: bright. ripe plum taste on initial impression and mid-palate, which progresses into a slightly vegetal short-medium finish with minimal amount of tannins and (hooray!) no sourness; overall: tasty, complete, albeit simplistic package that offers great QPR ($9 on sale at Morris Miller in NW DC) and is worth stocking up as a good everyday exemplar of old-world style.

Pleasant but maybe insubstantial nose, initally, with more pepper and a touch of smoke 30-40 minutes later. Surprisingly dark, ruby in the glass. Cherries and mild tannins in the mouth. I bought this to pair with pasta and a rich red sauce with veal/pork meatballs and a little sherry. Not a bad match, but I wouldn't want anything lighter.

Although we had this with 3 types of pasta, 2 red and 1 white, this did nothing for any of them. It seemed somewhat bitter ... no focus.

Easy drinking red, decent for the price. Floral notes with hints of licorice and black raspberry.
