Canobolas~Smith Chardonnay Wild Yeast

Rich popcorn butter , napa chard oaky creamy like with sweet orange blossoms. Very golden yellow luscious fruits come thru. Good stuff though definitely new world style.

Pretty good. Creamy butter nose was accompanied by a nice undertow of mineral scents and a little woody whiff. Rather pleasant. Modern, oaked, but somehow neither overoaked or overblown. Same thing on the palate. Clearly new world, with a creamy texture and flavours of buttery popcorn, peach and sweet yellow fruit - pineapples maybe. It was big, there was just that hint of alcohol, but past that, there was some structure, with a sense of good dry extract, and plenty …

Tasting of Canoblas-Smith Wines (Canoblas-Smith cellar door, Orange) : Very decent. Some grassiness on the nose, along with butter, cream and white fruit. Palate was fresh and crisp, with obvious malolactic and battonage notes in its soft creaminess. Nice flinty mineral backbone though, along with a nice amount of white fruit. Finish has nice savoury length.
