Fruity and herbal, varietally correct Scheurebe. Easy to drink on a summer afternoon.

Plenty sweet, but complicating notes of grapfruit rind and wet stone keep things interesting. Could use a bit more acidity to balance the weight, may yet round into form with some more time in the cellar. Tasty now, but should improve in the short term.

The nose on this wine was a nice, big mix of fruits, honey and a bit of spice. The attack could have used a bit more acid, but had a nice roundness. Actually improved with pizza or a tomato based pasta - somehow the honey notes were tamped down, while the vibrant, almost funky fruit flavors were ramped up. Very interesting.

Clean nose of grapefruit and sage with some minerality on the nose. Light bodied with juicy acidity, it starts to pick up some tropical passion fruit notes on the palate. Easy to drink and nicely balanced overall with average length.

Fun nose of almonds, peaches, mango, dry hay, stones, and a little watermelon jolly rancher. Creamy and full with a nice backbone. Delivers the fruit on the front end and brings chalk and stone with a nice herbal quality into it's moderately lingering finish. This will drink well with just about anything during the grilling season and at 11 % why would you not have a few in the fridge, cooler, yada..

Surprisingly lush on entry, showing lots of ripe tropical fruit. There's a mid-palate/back end herbal/grassy edge that keeps the wine lively and focused. Easy to drink and easy on the wallet.

I went looking for a Scheurebe because Terry Theise's description of it as "Riesling just after it read the Kama Sutra" and "Riesling's evil, horny twin" intrigued me. I was not disappointed by this one. I don't know whether it's the actual flavour that makes me think of ginger or just something about its warmth (not in the sense of alcoholic heat) and spiciness. I liked it best when I first opened it and it still had a tiny bit …

Bright tropical fruit, herbs, a bit of tarter grapefruit and melon with nice sweetness and a pleasant acid spine keeping it in check. Very nice.

Appearance: Clear, pale yellow. Nose: Clean, expressive with white flowers, pitted fruit. Palate: Medium-to-full bodied, low alcohol, moderate acidity, peach, exotic fruit, almond, and honey with a moderately long finish. Delicious and alluring. With or without food. Versatile. Nice price point. (D 4.5, F 6; SoPo)

Amazing aromatics. Soft passionfruit. It's so soft, lush and seductive. Yes, I'm still talking about the nose. On the palate, slightly sweet, I'd give it a 2 on the Theise scale. Round, with tropical fruits again, including guave. Very soft. Deelicious stuff, and a pretty good price to boot. 89+
