Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo

The wine looks tawny colored. The legs are medium. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. Outstanding.This wine has at least 3-5 more years left on it

At a Christmas get together with friends. Decent Barolo, except the tannins were not yet resolved causing some acidic sting on the tongue. Black cherry, strawberry, tar, some floral notes, licorice, black pepper. Decent intensity of fruit and richness at this point, but I'd be concerned as to whether the tannins might out last the fruit.

This is the black label, which is not negociant (as compared to the white label which is). Darker color with more tar and tea on the nose then expected. Palate it at its best on day three, so it has a long life ahead of it. With forceful acids. Not incredibly defined, but still fun Barolo.
