Edge Hill Abel Vineyard St. Helena

Decanted for 40 minutes. Aromas of boysenberry, raspberry, melted chocolate, dried cherry and plum. Flavors of boysenberry, blackberry, black cherry, roasted herbs and bit of earth. Ends with a 35-40 second finish with berry and herb notes. Still going strong but definitely lost some fruit potency although you would not tell from the nose. Will update the note if it changes. Amazing wine!! The best wine I have had in years....wow so freaking good!!

Rich and powerful, still tastes young. Served blind and guesses ranged all over the world but everyone loved it. Complex and delicious- dark fruit flavors, earth, mineral, chocolate, spice. Awesome both for it's quality and uniqueness.

Mark and Tracy sprang this on us blind over dinner at their house. Deep totally opaque purple colour.....looks massively extracted. Nose is immediately deep, rich and succulent black fruits and there is a high-end Rhone-like multi dimensionality that is verry alluring.....probably the result of there being 12 grape varieties in the blend, apparently. The nose is gorgeous. Palate is surprisingly silky and way more integrated than the nose would suggest. Massive fruits but this is not an oppressive fruit bomb. …

Robert Parker said this was "meaty and rich, resembling a Michel Chapoutier single vineyard Ermitage." Quite a compliment! I decanted this the same time we decanted the Insignia and about an hour in it was ready to go. This was very dark in color and brooding.
