Sydney Italian Wine Festival 2015 : Apple cider, violets, graphite, earth and pear. Plenty of phenolic character, with some spritz and lightly ripe fruit. Acidity is quite high but I like how it works with the other components.

This was quite a wine! Cloudy and distinctly orange. The nose was nutty - think almonds not hazelnuts - with citrus and some orchard fruit. On the palate, this was rich and medium bodied with a crispness and fine grained structure that carried flavors of mature, earthy fruit through a reasonably long finish. We really enjoyed this wine.

Ambrato. Affascinante al naso, con albicocca e fico, curcuma, note di ruggine, nespola, pepe bianco, elicriso. Bocca piena, leggermente amarognola, lunga e convincente

Quite a treat. The first bottle had a hint of oxidation, whereas the second was clear and fresh. Quite amazing for what I believe to be made from the Vermentino grape. Nose of white flowers, peach. On the palate pineapple, pear, quince, wet rock. Quite nice.

Slightly cloudy with an orange hue immediately indicating extended skin contact. The nose shows some hints of secondary fruit skin character and spiced fruit but the palate is really where it takes off. This has a lot of length, as much as I have noticed on any wine in quite some time. Complex and concentrated with lots of fruit balanced with ample acids and some skin grip. Really terrific and should last for quite a few more years. Excellent.

Davvero straordinario. Giallo ramato torbido. Naso intrigante e avvolgente di albicocca, mela cotogna, nocciola, salsedine, macchia mediterranea. Bocca piena, sapida, salmastra, estremamente saporita con una componente tannica che bilancia il calore dei 14,5% di alcol. Finale lunghissimo, interminabile.

Excentric dark yellow with orange hues, quite cloudy. Nose reminds of apricot, figs, rosemary, earl gray tea. Incredible mouth, with oxydative notes playing with bitter almond, mediterraean underbrush, sillabub. What a wine!

I was able to try this on sale for under $20 and I'm glad it worked out that way. I've tried and have sought out a variety of "orange" wines. Not sure if I would put this in the orange category. The apple/apple cider qualities are there and obvious and the body has a nice weight and freshness to it but the alcohol seems out of place and I got no secondary notes. I'm going to put the other one …

Compelling stuff; light orange in colour and very cloudy with a fantastic aromatic profile of bright floral notes, citrus fruits, peaches and savoury herbal and nutty elements. In the mouth there's a sense of incredibly clarity and brightness with the fruit flavours feeling really fresh and a saline mineral element underneath. Really unusual, completely out of my frame of reference but very enjoyable.

This is the second time a taste this extraordinary wine. The first time was on location at a great resturant on Sardinia paired with the local seafood dishes and I was blown away. This time, at home i cold Copenhagen, it's harder for me too rate it. It is so special. Very mineral, tannic and bitter with citrus aromas. Almost like a heavy cider or wheatbeer (but not as sweet). Not easy to pair with food (not good with a …

Wonderful and very special wine. Unfiltered which shows. Very hazy and orangecolored. Very fragrant. Complex. Citrus aromas. Salty. Very mineral but also great citrus and peach fruit. Fullbodied white wine, almost tannic. Can cope with a serius meal. Very special. Be prepared fore a (pleasant) surprise

This has the hazy amber-orange look of a tripel and the smell of sort of a hefeweizen-tripel combo, with sweet citrus and then explosive floral flavors that wallop the palate with an infectiously yeasty, jumpy dynamism that just brings a smile to my face. Not the more common sort of greenish, crisp Vermentino, but no less wonderful an experience.

Natural Wines of Italy (Jug Shop, San Francisco, CA) : Broad white herb, marmalade and root-like flavors. Very textured with some tart citrus fruit. Unique and complex Vermentino.

I love these weird wines. Made in the style of a red with extended skin contact and no sulfites. Strangely cloudy and hazy in the glass with more of a look of iced tea than white wine. There is OJ-concentrate on the nose and a hint of sherry. The palate is intriguing, nutty, funky. Pleasant and interesting but not on the level of Gravner or Radikon. I saved some to try on DAY 2 and see how it has handled …
