Deep gold. Oak nose. Rich, lively, a bit too sweet. Hint of age custard. Lively but sweetness detracts. Ei liked.

A bit past its prime. Nose was fairly flat, though it has received a slight lanolin touch to complement oak's vanilla notes. On the palate, the usual Pride balance is gone- almost no acidity to speak of at this point, and not what I was hoping for- but a bit of petrol on the finish is a nice bonus. Would only want to have this with a richer styled fish/chicken dish.

Was afraid based on past experience with Pride chards that this might be over the hill. Not at all. Still a little more oaky and buttery than I prefer but nice for its style. A little lanolin and pear on the nose. Similar flavors on the palate. Long finish.

Straw colored, nose of citrus and oak. Time has helped this come together. In the mouth there is apple, citrus, and oak with a minerally finish.

Made the mistake of putting this in the fridge before opening - should have just drank at cellar temperature. A good balance of oak, fruit and acidity. Might have preferred a little more crispness, but, overall very nice.

This has matured very nicely and become a very mellow chardonnay offering; light gold color; great balance of vanilla, oak and butter; not an oak monster at all, but still has some of those characteristics (a good thing to me)

Great acidity to balance the oak and fruit. Really enjoyed this wine. Too bad I paired it with a pasta carbonara - it didn't work at all.

Not sure why this bottle was so different than the last (both bought from pride same day, cellared the same, etc.) BUT this one was so good. There was little oak on th finish, the color was of melted butter and the taste was exceptional with sweet fruit like apricot and melon. It was great with the REd Snapper. Maybe just a better food / wine combination brought out the best of this wine -- but when it was gone …

A nice wine, some oak but not buttery. A hint of minerality, but overall warm and lush. Good melon, citrues and honey notes. Overall, a nice wine, but nothing memorable.

I have been drinking quite a bit of Kistler lately and this was a big disappointment. Maybe it was this particular bottle but we had it with chicken piccata, grilled asparagus and salad. Started with a Poet's Leap riesling and then switched to the Pride. For some reason just did not work.

Granted, I'm not the world's greatest Chardonnay judge, but this was great with our roasted chicken tonight! Yes, the oak was obvious, but considering the whole package, I enjoyed it a lot.

Delicious big fruit chardonnay with decent acidity to back up the power. Not much finesse to this wine, although it is evident that Pride has toned the oak down as compared to previous vintages. KJ on steriods? Maybe previous years, but this one is better than that comparison. Needs another year to integrate better.

Big disappointment. Over the hill, unbalanced, some off putting notes of chemical and plastic. Clear and dominate oak with little fruit. Not enjoyable.

Time has really helped this wine. I've tried it twice before and this was the best showing by far. The wine seems to have picked up a little weight with some bottle age and displays generous flavors of crisp mineral, green apple, citrus and melon. A refreshing and clean finish.

Just on the cusp of being "outstanding." Golden straw in color. Toasty oak dominates the nose when first opened, but then that fades to cream, marmalade, and butterscotch. Medium weight and relatively low in acidity. The finish doesn't last very long, but is pleasant nonetheless. Drink them up now, they are not going to get any better.

Bob Foley Wine Tasting Results (My Home) : Nose of light carmel scents with hints of dried applewood Palate was dominated by oaky dry flavors with little fruit and a bit of acid. Seemed over the hill and not well balanced to me. Drinkable, but without much pleasure.

The color of this wine is a deep, golden straw shade. The nose is full of fig, earthy citrus, and lemon. The taste is huge with flavors of grapefruit, fig, lemon, hazelnut and kiwi. This wine is a real mouthful. It should be good for another two years. I would say it is approaching its peak.

($34) Wine Country August 2001: Mineralled French oak. Butterscotch nose. Tight. Green apple palate Somewhat short with an oaky finish. Not quite to my tastes.
