Similar to last tn from 2021 but has definitely improved since that time; definitely has awaken from its slumber and is very much in its ideal drinking window.

A l’ouverture, la robe est légèrement évoluée, rouge tendant sur un peu de brun. Le nez est alcooleux. En bouche, des arômes de chocolat et de fruits très mûrs dominent de manière peu équilibrée. Le vin est surtout très très astringent. Epaulé et bu deux heures plus tard, le vin a très bien évolué. Les arômes se sont fondus au bénéfice d’une agréable complexité. Eagles TN is spot on. Drank slightly chilled to counter the actual heat and the heat in the bottle. Worked quite well. Nice CdP but not special by any means.

30 minute decant. Colour of light-medium pomegranate-garnet. Nose of dark cherries with some wet tobacco and berry iodine. Ripe earthy raspberries and black cherries with a touch of iodine on its meaty palate; the 15% abv is very noticeable. Medium bodied with a medium finish. Last tasted January 2016.

Better than a year ago. Great tipicity. Textbook CdP, albeit with a somewhat elegant streak. Figs, plums, cherry liqueur, garrigue, dried leaves, a ton of minerality, and still assertive tannins. Will try to revisit in 2-3 yrs.

A bit young and grapey at present, but promising. Blue fruit, medium tannins, good enough acidity, some minerality, pepper. Will revisit in 2more yrs. My impression is that this will improve. Wine masks reasonably well the whopping 15pct alcohol.

Meaty and broad with a core of dark plum and black cherry. There is quite a stony mineral edge to this, with a background garrigue that occasionally hints at something metallic. Incredible tannic structure, this holds its balance well and will age for some time yet.

Hdr Closing Tasting : Nice big cherry and dark cherry fruit on the nose. Some floral notes. A bit earthy as well. On the palate, there are tannins, but this has a seamless complex quality to it that is quite good. Nice dark cherry fruit. Good finish.

45 minute decant. Medium ruby in colour; has a bright nose of ripe cherries and raspberries with some kirsch with some underlying cassis. More sweet ripe red fruits with some red licorice on the palate; very nice finish. This seems to be ready right now out of the gate.

Really enjoyed. Nearly opaque ruby to purple. Smells of liquorice and kirsch. Medium aroma intensity. Soft with red fruits and good balance. Perhaps a bit too much heat at 15% but overall very nice.

Rhone varietals at Cooking School (Loretta Paganini School of Cooking) : A nice showing for this CdP. Purple in color, ruby at the rim. Pretty classic IMO. The nose has raspberries, black raspberries, violets, and baking spice. Medium bodied. A bit thinner than I was expecting but still nice. Black cherry fruit on the palate. Nice acidity. Drinking well right now if not that complex. Easy to drink.

This has character and depth! A full-bodied, strong and fruity wine with lovely flavors of dark berries, ripe dark fruits and spices. The lively acidity gives freshness and balance. This is completely approachable even now!
