Very nice bottle of mature Burgundy drank with a rotisserie chicken. Bright and fresh with no signs of premox. Drink

Burgundy Wine Club dinner 2019 - Chambolle : Butterscotch on opening, and we thought maybe there was a pre-mox problem. Not sure about that, but if not, this is just not a great Meursault. I could feel the oily and ample texture of this place, but if there is detail in terroir expression in this wine, it is obscured by either pre-mox or perhaps just general flabbiness.

Brought to CT Seattle White Burg tasting; so sad but completely corked with nothing but wet cardboard on the nose and in the mouth.

Deep golden straw colour. Nose gives me lots of delightful pineapple, pear, cantaloupe melon, minerals, newly mowed lawn and celeriac. Taste is full and lovely. Lots of acidity and minerality, but perhaps slightly disappointing length and complexity. I think this wine is overrated here on CT. 50+5+13+12+7 (87p)

Med yellow. Fruity and ripe in the nose. This is a powerful wine, lacking elegance. We enjoyed it but the 2009 character is a caricature, here.

PnP - 750ml; purchased at Maison du Columbier in Beaune; Great nose of lemon chiffon, oyster shell, and open sea. Palate of lemon custard, lemon candy, oyster, very slight breadiness with a hint of salt. Medium texture with a good to great length finish. Hmmmm.

Slight golden/green metallic color....first smell seemed a little ox AND corkiness?? Fu@$#$! But hold on there cowboy.....after a few sips and some air....the ox is no more than some ripe baked apple, hazelnut and honey....the corkiness has become a wonderful smoked flint, chalky minerals, little hops-like funkiness? What is striking is the piercing lime citrus acidity giving the somewhat ripe fruit a good cut! Great florals, chalk, minerals, and some aged honey. I like the funky complexities...but I can see …

Perfect now, but no rush. Wow. The best of all three bottles, and sadly the last. Not at all oxidative, just a gorgeous smoky, saline, nutty, buttery, balanced Meursault with a brilliant wash of cleansing acidity and perfectly integrated oak. Reminds me just how exceptionally good white Burg can be.

2009 Burgundy Dinner with Robert Panzer (Boka - Chicago IL) : Lush, ripe stone fruit to start, but this was corked and that emerged rather quickly once in glass.

Faint aromas of freshly mown grass that develops a perfumed honey note with time in the glass. Lush mineral, vanilla and Golden Delicious apple flavors over crisp core acidity.

Slightly oxidized nose and palate, nice viscosity counterbalanced what tastes like the malic acid of an apple on the palate as well. Hazelnuts in the background within the viscous oxidation. Wow after writing this, just read Jennings' note below this for the first time, stunningly similar experience.

Very discreet nose. Slight aromas of green mellow fruits but all hidden behind a smell/taste of wet cardboard. Don't know if it was a flaw or not.
