Imagery Estate Winery Cabernet Franc

90: This wine drinks so smooth that it's hard to believe that it has alcohol. Opening pour revealed the incredible red-violet color along the edges darkening to a lovely dark ruby-purple body. A quick twirl showed sparse legs. The bouquet had a subtle blend of fruit and terroir that hinted at the beautiful complexity of flavor to come. Ruby-purple with clear rim, aromas of forest berries and black cherry. Rich and creamy palate opens with forest berry and black cherry, cassis/blackcurrant, supported by sweet, round tannins and notes of cedar that reveal the Cab Franc character on the long and very pleasant finish. Very New World in style, and quite delicious.

I haven't had a lot of cab franc, but this struck me as sweet and a little pruney with moderately grippy tannins. A little heat on the finish but not too bad. A big wine and while I had it alone I think it would pair well with steak and seems like it has a few years until it peaks
