This seems closer in style and size to the incredible 2017. The nose is brooding and intense. The first aromas evoke the soil - mineral, limestone. Then comes red fruit. On the palate, it's trying to come together but at this early stage, the structure dominates and the grainy tannins manage to seem smooth. The red fruit is fleshy and spiky. Time will tell if this eclipses the 2017. the fruit seems riper.
