When opened, it was one dimensional, intensive, hit like a hammer. And felt so young. This needed some air. Poured into a burgundy glass and let it breathe for a while. Now a wonderful wine unfolded. Clear yellow color. Shares characteristics of a great white Burgundy wine, but the spice and the typical Veltliner notes show up so clearly that this one can't be mistaken. You just wouldn't believe it because most people are not used to aged wines these …

On the nose, vanilla, apricots, strewed apples, medecine cabinet. Very pleasant in the mouth, buttery for a gewurtz, after-taste lingering and slightly bitter with lemon zest. Probably peaking or in decline. Look forward to other bottle - Will try with food.

Great fruit (peach, mango) with some vibrant acidity. An excellent drink that's very good with seafood.

Loimer tasting with Fred Loimer : Light golden in the glass. Spicy and salty nose. More minerality and salty than the 2002 vintage. Ok acidity. Dry and spicy finish.

Loimer tasting with Fred Loimer : Ripe tropical fruits on the nose with minerals, herbs and pepper. Medium bodied. Spicy finish. Not very acidic, a bit plump. Lacking balance.

Interesting mix of peach and greenish fruit on the nose with a lovely clarity and freshness. I get lime and peach on the palate, with an attractive saltiness and a little spritz too. There's good acidity and a pleasing, tangy finish. Clean, fresh, well balanced and very good - markedly better than I remember this being when last tasted.

Decent bottle. Not my best Gruner, but nice, balanced flavors. A bit muted.

Pale lemon. Medium intense nose, with peach, hints of citrus and minerals. A medium bodied, elegant wine with attractive medium/medium + intense peach flavour, citrus hints and medium acidity on an attractive, soft (but not flabby) peachy finish. Would drink well on its own.
