Chilled in the fridge, drank over two hours. Nose remained fairly muted throughout at this stage in its life, with only the faintest hints of red fruit - which held true long after the fridge chill had worn off. Most of the fruits were also gone on the palate, but it retained solid tannins, and a long and spicy finish. Quite enjoyable while chilled, but not super interesting once it warmed up. Wish had kept it in an ice bucket.

I purchased six of these early in the spring and have been pulling corks once every few weeks all summer. By now the 2021 is in a fantastic place -- if you own it, open one! These wines do age quite well (I've tasted them at 5, 10, even 15 years) but they peak during their first 2 or 3. So the 2021 is hitting its window. Quite a deep pink -- in this season of Barbie, I would call …

Cherry, red fruit and watermelon - you get a hint of spice and herbs but the acidity and cherry set the tone. Tastes delicious and has a medium but smooth finish. I seemed to like it even more this time than the first time I had it a few months ago. This is a very different wine from the La Dame Rousse of the same producer - this is much much better, all the great notes, none of the bitterness.

Slow ox’d and it opened fine within 30 min. Deep pink/pale ruby color. 👃🏻 strawberry, cherry, grenadine 👅 red cassis, cherry, white pepper, watermelon with 35-40 sec finish. Great QPR for a rose, pleasantly surprised by my first Tavel

Against the less inspiring "normal" Rosé of the property the Reine des Bois boasts ripe strawberries, raspberries, grenadine, melon, pomme grenade, tea and subtle spices, even in a year like 21, and raising expectations for the '22.

From 75cl, DIAM10 closure, P+P. Excellent, concentrated Tavel as previously noted. Will rebuy the 2022. 90P

BBQ season is opened, and this excellent Rosé is the right companion. Intense red fruit nose (strawberry, raspberry, granadine). Generous, lots of minerality, smooth, balanced, red fruit, melon, pomme grenade, tea and subtle spices. Drink now and and next year.

From 75cl, DIAM10 "origine" closure. Broad, red fruited scent; softly purring 14,5% alc buffering bright acidity and redcurrant astringency on the entry; nice fat raspberry on the mid-palate; satisfying, gently bitter finish. Really excellent Tavel, a distinct step up from the Dame Rousse bottling. 90P

French road trip, mainly Rhône valley; 9/4/2022-9/18/2022 : From open 75cl at Domaine de la Mordorée tasting room. Very like the DdlM Dame Rousse Tavel rosé tasted immediately before, but with broader, fatter, riper, raspberry fruit adding to the redcurrants. Very full, fat and weighty on the mid-palate; 14,5% alc. well-integrated, low acid, but no heat. Persistent, juicy finish. 20,50 EUR at cellar door, a great buy if you want to shock your Provence skinny-rosé-loving friends with something much more …

Outstanding Rosé, with an intense red fruit nose (strawberry, raspberry, granadine). Complex, smooth (only as much acidity as is needed), with the palate dominated by red fruit, melon, pomme grenade, tea and subtle spices.

Deep coral almost red-orange, heady berry nose. Coats the tongue with lush and flavorful bursts of strawberry spritzed with lemon zest. Forget the Long Island version of summer in a bottle (which can be quite appealing, just saying), this delivers a big bear hug—definitely not for the faint of heart or palate.
