Snoqualmie Vineyards Merlot Naked Merlot

Medium dark ruby with pink at the rim, nearly opaque; medium intense nose hinting at boysenberry and cherry with touches of mint, coffee & French oak; soft but slightly tart flavors of cherry carried with oak; no concentration but has some mid palate and a slightly harsh tannic bitterness in the back palate, slightly hot 14.5% ABV. Aftertaste falls short. Drink now with food, it will not get any better.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Merlot. Complex, good fruit notes, and I'll make the effort to buy more once the cellar is a bit less crowded. Very nice for a relatively inexpensive wine.

Dark purple with slow falling legs. Forward aromas of smoky dark fruits, earth with espresso, and cocoa oak and spices. On the palate juicy black plum, dark cherry and blackberry flavors mingle with vannilla and oak. This wine is round and finishes with nice woody fruit flavors and good grip
