Still tasting great, at peak !! This Zinfandel is luscious and delicious. Consumed over three days. This wine started fruity, but softened and rounded into a velvety smooth Zinfandel. Aromas of blueberry and flavors of blackberry and vanilla with a medium finish. From a historic ancient vines vineyard in the deep sandy soil of Contra Costa County (no phylloxera). Matt Cline does a great job as winemaker, just delicious and great PQR ! This is the last bottle of this …

Drinking very well -- lovely richness and complexity, balanced fruit and tannins. It's not perfectly integrated, but it may be as good as it's going to get. Will save the rest for at least another 6 mo to see how it evolves.

A little to syrupy for my tastes.

Drinking really well right now. My last bottle of a couple of cases. Classic zin. Dark, spicy, beautiful from Matt Cline. Wish I had more but alas, the price you pay for drinking the cases over the years......

It looks like the wine is beginning to show brilliantly. This bottle was quite nicely balanced and big in fruit with lots of delicacy on the edges of the tastes. Briariness was more subtle than in the past but still a big part of the whole picture. Fruits of Black raspberries and a touch of plum just nicely hung on through most the mouth. Finish is big and dry tea tannins with a slight tartness and mixed fruit and a …

A lot of the tartness is mellowing. Drinking really nicely, with plenty of fruit and pepper, really an excellent Zin, and for the money, pretty extraordinary.

This bottle was big and spicy. It lead with briary cherry and cranberry followed by big pepper and spice and then the heat of the alcohol. We had this with a very spicy meal and it got spicier and hotter as the spice and heat from the food hit. The wine is made so it matches what you eat; an uncommon feature but a nice feature of the wine. Flavors with this meal were huge.

Dark fruit, tart, astringent even. Long finish. Lot of classic California old vine Zin for the money.

Today the fruit was huge in this bottle. The color was a deep heavy purple plum. This had lots of fruit that filled you mouth and showed heavy plum and bright cherry with some moderate spice. Nice oak wafting from the finish with light to medium tannin....Everyone liked this one

Black cherry with meaty characteristics and notes of herbs on the nose. Rustic blackberry and black cherry pit with more meat and bits of hot asphalt. Full throated oak finish with red cherry pulp and firm, dry tannins.

This bottle was not up to the wine's past standards. There was still a lot of complex flavors in the wine but it felt thin and dilute on the tongue. The spiciness tended to overwhelm the flavors and it was out of balance --too acidic on the tongue. Still I enjoyed it but my wife who had liked the last bottles DID NOT like the wine. Let's see how my next 8 bottles fair. I hope this is just another …

What can I say, super balance, great fruit, layers of flavor. and smooth subtle finish. And the gigantic 15.4% alcohol is handled wonderfully. I just can't wait to drink this wine even though I expect it to age wonderfully.

I am rushing in drinking this wine and it really needs time to develop. This was the second bottle of a case I got in February. If you have some, keep it cellared for at least a year before having it. At 15.4% ABV it needs time for all the flavors to separate out. Right now I taste tiny inklings of wonderful nuances but it is overpowered by heavy fruit and the alcohol. That being said, it’s still drinking nicely. …

Deep purple wine. The nose is a touch of oak and then a lot of dark fruits with a spicy edge. The first tastes were superb. This is a big fruit wine and the fruit is heavy in deep red and black berries followed with a nice spiciness then a great light oak and soft but very dry tannin. I drank this bottle over about 2 hours and as the bottle was open the fruit became much sweeter which to …
