Wine pairing for the dinner menu at POST Family Resort, Unken, Austria. Ripe pear, orchard fruit, light earth, and white pepper, with medium(+) acidity and very good length. Medium-bodied and well-balanced, with a lightly creamy texture. Paired well with creamy venison tartare. A textbook GV. We liked it quite a bit.

Austrian Tasting (Abercrombie Hotel) : slight kerosene, green notes, Kaffir lime leaf. Fleshy rather than juicy, broad, almost a little warm and clumsy. Lacks freshness. Meh.

Melon, herbs, flowers, great tingling texture that grips across the tongue. Altogether "green" smells and flavors, with a pleasant nutty bitterness. Hiedler always delivers.
