Herman Story Shadow Canyon Vineyard

Big, bold, complex ... delicious. Classic Herman Story.

Full bodied, almost syrupy, bordering on a desert wine. Plum, vanilla. Definitely, way overpriced for the quality of wine.

Deep garnet color, warm and jammy. Delicious!

Very nice, but perhaps a bit alkaline.

Big, rich and dark syrah. 20% grenache smooths out any rough edges. Plenty of fruit with some oak and savory notes. Very smooth and supple at this stage. Don't think it will get any better with more bottle age.

This was the best red I have ever tasted. Wonderful flavors and just delicious. What a great wine maker Herman Story is. All the wines there are wonderful.

Another solid Herman Story blend. Nice nose. Big, bold dark fruit flavors. Low acidity. Smooth, soft finish.

Dark black and blue fruit, anise, squid ink, asphalt, roasted meat, milk chocolate, medium tannins, silky profile, very similar to most Herman Story profiles. Very nice.

Blackberries and chocolate, and a nice spicy finish. Super smooth and lovely stuff. Big and lush, but with some refinement and backbone to balance.

80% Syrah, 20% Grenache aged 24 months in 100% New French Oak. Decanted. Fully scented with aromas that take me back to childhood with freshly cooked waffles with blueberry syrup, vanilla ice cream, orange rolls, cinnamon sticks, black licorice and marionberry pie before revealing further scents of tire swings and rubber dodge balls, lavender pastilles and suede. The palate is full and concentrated showing high mid-palate density. Acid and tannins both show above moderate intensity with a high abv perception …
