My second bottle of 3 purchased when prices were sensible. For myself, this is the greatest white Burgundy I've tasted, and my limited stocks have designated it a "birthday wine". To be honest, I can't fault the wine, apart from the fact it lacks that little extra over and above wow factor. The nose is superlative, with initial apple and pear notes, followed by banana and ripe peach. The balance and precision are faultless, but for myself the highlight is …

From magnum, this doesn't show all it has on the first day, cultivating more depth and complexity on the second day. Candied lemon, a little botrytis influence, cream, white flower. Very good, though I wonder if this will scale the heights that Montrachet can.

I like this vintage of Laguiche very much, and this bottle was in perfect shape.

Tasted double blind. This wine is fantastic, characterized by its clean, chiseled profile and a heavenly salty spine that never fails to give me goosebumps. While there may be more complex white Burgundies out there, the sheer drinking pleasure this one offers today is incomparable. 97pts TN: Highly expressive, this wine boasts an impressive aromatic density and intensity, both on the nose and palate. At its heart lies a super intense salty minerality that is truly enchanting, complemented by an …

Precise and detailed fruit profile boasting an array of peach, banana, citrus and tangerine. This is complemented by salty minerality, butter and toast notes, cream, floral notes and herbal seasoning. With time in the glass this also reveals matchstick and sulfur notes. On the palate you’ll find a perfect texture with a buttery softness and fresh acidity. Persistent from attack to finish. Outstanding.

Bright yellow, fairly dense viscosity. Fascinating evolution of the nose over 3 hours from bright lemon, to a faint vanilla to almost a sugary caramel. Nice weight and balance in the palate. Lovely and a joy to drink

An exceptional wine, this is a superlative Montrachet, and thankfully bought a few years ago at a reasonable price. It shows such elegance with apple and pear notes and a buttery palate, but with just the right amount of acidity end palate and on the finish to deliver near perfection. Likewise, the finish is faultless with exquisite balance and a length that pushes 60 seconds. This is one of the best white Burgundys I've tasted. This is in its perfect …

A bit darker yellow than you'd like to see in a white burg this young, this seemed to be on the edge of turning over the hill. For now though, this is still in a good spot and drinking really well, with solid weight, rich fruit, and nice acidity. I wouldn't hold these any longer if you've got them, this bottle was definitely showing at the very end of it's peak life.

Served blind, no one guessed Montrachet, only that it was a Grand Cru. Deep smokey, mineral notes here. A bit broad on the nose. Great fruit and concentration but again didn't scream Montrachet, even in this vintage where the weight should really show. Good bottles of this are superb and should go a long distance.

Tony's 60th Birthday Celebration (Republique - Los Angeles CA) : Also faintly sweet-spice driven like the 2013, but with a more savory fruit profile. Elegant and layered, showing some signs of maturity, but still nicely fresh (compared to a very advanced bottle I tasted last year). Good weight and well layered. Alongside, the 2013, I preferred the younger vintage, which I found more concentrated, while others liked this 2010 more than I did tonight.

Possibly the most impressive Drouhin Montrachet I have had. Graceful, perfectly balanced, rich but naturally unmarked. Hard to criticize in terms of wine making. There’s a unique softness to it while the backbone is strong. Certainly more elegant that your usual Drouhin. 96

bottle decanted for about more than 1 hour. very beautiful golden color with high intensity. medium to full body with very elegant nose of flower, blossom, yellow fruits. the palate is very rich, smooth and silky but with a clear backbone. very Montrachet style, which has both elegant and power. (power behind beauty style). finish is quite linear with minerality.

This was not a good bottle (magnum actually), it is still good but way too advanced for a 2010, not yet oxidized but borderline. Tangerine, caramel, vegetal. What a shame

Pop and pour. Clean, maize color; looked more mature than what I was expecting. Exotic nose of beeswax, orange blossoms, and butterscotch. On the palate, a full-bodied monster, thick viscosity carrying flavors of ripe mangoes, lanolin, and saline, mineral notes like an oyster shell. A treat! Thanks Jeff!

From magnum, this showed such a weirdly botrytis nose that I would have had a difficult time placing it blind. A blend of typical lemon and orchard fruits with something a little more tropical underneath the botrytis. The palate is deep and resonant, marrying a lushness with with poise that makes mid slope make sense. But still, tough for me to get past all that botrytis. I don't mind a little botrytis in Montrachet (00 DRC Montrachet being just a …

2010 Great White Burgundy Dinner (Eli's Table - New York, NY) : Served single blind. Rich and nearly enjoyable but unacceptably advanced for this great vintage.

Joseph Drouhin Montrachet 2010 paired with bone marrow on toast with capers, onions, parsley, lemon juice & olive oil. Started out very rich with butter, butterscotch and tropical fruits. It became Slightly less rich in body with air, but still had notes of butterscotch, tropical fruits & spices on the nose. Palate- crisp lemons, spices, some hints of butter, lots of minerals, medium acidity in perfectly integrated oak in a long long finish with a full body. Still quite primary …

If a white wine could be "spherical", this would be it. On the nose and entry it's rich and sweet, almost like a Criots, but then it's not. Mid-palate morphs into something Batard-like, then culminates into Chevalier-like minerality for a 30-second finish. This wine bends the space-time continuum. From magnum.

This was excellent and still drinking quite young. Amazing mix of up front fruit with a dose of oak but with some beautiful minerality. I loved this!
