Karthauserhof, Riesling Alte Reben Trocken, Mosel

Opened 6 hours before dinner. Nice Riesling nose with stone fruit, white flowers and a hint of petrol, on the palate fresh and light, almost dry, medium length. At the beginning of its drinking window now, but still far away from peaking, 90++.

Eitelsbacher Riesling "Alte Reben" (VDP Ortswein), Trocken (dry), fermented with indigenous yeasts, 12% vol. Opened 6 hours before dinner. Nice nose that reminds to late harvested grapes with dried apricot but also with some orchard fruit, on the palate dry and clean, but a bit thin, flabby and short. Much better the last glass on the next day when the acidity becomes more noticeable, it shows a better mouthfeel and length, promising. Just much too young, needs another 2 to …

Classical Ruwer Nose, quite closed at the beginning. Rally good acidity vibrant, still very fresh. Full bodied, need still some time. Quite opulent for Ruwer but nevertheless great effort !!!

Nicht mein Geschmack. steinobst und Mirabelle am Gaumen , aber keine Säure , die dem Wein Struktur verleiht. Der Wein hängt schlapp im Glas.

Riesling Tasting : Herb, pear, lemon and spices. Texturally excellent, there is great length and the fruit has fantastic depth. Worth investing in cellaring it. I loved it, very impressive.
