Tenuta Montauto Maremma Toscana Enos I

Elegant. More expressive on the palate than the nose. Gooseberry, unripe melon, citrus, elderflower. Soft entry, leesy/cheesy notes in the nose and mid-palate. Vibrant, salty minerality on the finish piques your interest.

Sortentypische Nase nach Stachelbeere, weissem Pfirsich und etwas Melone. Eher auf der blumig/süsslichen Seite der SB-Aromenprofile. Am Gaumen tolle Balance, wieder weisser Pfirsich und Stachelbeeren, wunderschöne Säurestruktur (leicht limettenhaft). Dezente Rwstsüsse, ein toller SB!

Juicy and fresh and crisp but with good complexity.

The owner notes its not NZ sauvignon blanc, its meant to go after some red whites and as it opens it reaches more complexity. They apparently left a bottle open for 48 days and it was still good. An open bottle. Part of the terroir maybe. And also won the Gold Medal in the European wine competition. And that, while being really young, is excellent wine.

Old vine Sauvignon. Lots of dry extract, and lively.

Small family run, 40 year vines. '16 was way more expressive. This vintage is really muted on the nose. Hard to push on a traditional SB drinker. Palate is more passion fruit, mango, cantaloupe and basil. I really like this wine based on palate but I would sell it as Tuscan Coast white.
