Incredibly terroir driven - really nice, then faded quickly after the first hour. No decant, pop and pour. Bottle was in perfect shape.

This is in such a great place. This shows layers of intense dark fruit on the nose and palate. The structure has receded and softened (but not disappeared), while the fruit and non-fruit flavors have fanned out to create a mouth-filling, textured wine that is just on the precipice of maturity. This isn't particularly grand, but it's very good and eminently satisfying. Will improve further over the next decade at least.

Oh my, this is surprisingly accessible considering it's a) a 1999 and b) a Grivot. It still has some tannic structure but it's not clamping down on any of the fruit or compromising its drinkability, and in fact the gravelly/stony element is so vivid here that the tannin just seems to contribute to making the mineral elements tactile. Lovely mature nose with red fruit, earth, some hoysin, slightly oaky. Taste dark fruit, chocolat, very clean. Tannins are still rather prominent, especially in the finish and somewhat coarse. If these tannins soften, this will be a beautifull wine, I hope they will.

Still very youthful, dark color with mostly black cherry fruits and plums on the nose mixed with hints of earth. The tannins are very apparent and have taken over much of the fruit and while this is very Nuits in overall character, I doubt much fruit will be present when the tannin fully resolves itself. A nice wine. Some good fruit flavor on the attack, but the rest is pretty simple; too simple. I like more structure to my wine and a longer finish. I do, however, think that this wine presents a pretty good value for the money (around $35).

11:00 just opened. Lots of gamey, woodsy and truffles on the nose. The body is lithe but still has plenty of tannic backbone to it. Sweet crab apple dominates the palate. Tangy finish. Excellent. 1:00: Wood smoke and eucalyptus dominates the nose. Very inviting, intriguing. Still quite tart on the back end. Maybe has a while yet to open? Next day: really pretty, quite charming.
