Villard Estate Sauvignon Blanc El Noble Botrytised Casablanca Valley

Classic Sauv. Blanc notes of cut-grass, gooseberry, and lime with botrytised notes of wax and honey. Sweet but nicely balanced on the palate with honeyed and caramelised tones almost integrated with the toasty oak influence. The finish is a touch too hot for the medium fruit intensity of the wine. A nice value fauxternes but it doesn't quite reach the levels of depth and punch of true Sauternes. Drink 2014-2023.
