Decanted for 3-4h, and greatly improved because of it - needs air! Garnet in the glass, huge nose of leather, oaky campfire, vanilla, spices, porcini mushrooms. On the palate, bright juicy red cherries, earthy leathery mineral, the tannins are subdued. Long earthy oaky finish with notes of dark chocolate. Superb brunello and a treat for the end of the year! 93/94

Výborné i bez dekantace, jen s pomalým rozvalžným pitím. Divná sedlina, taková jakoby hnijící (ale bez zápachu). Ale není to kámen, spíš žmolky. Už bylo v předchozí lahvi.

Skvělé, ale Casanova Tenuta N je lepší.

I think this bottle's been cooked - nice, fruity nose but tasted like alcoholic prune juice. Hopefully the other bottle's OK.

A significant step up from the 2013 Normale, but miles away from justifying its price tag; too many others in this class offering more excitement and freshness for less (in some cases much less) money. A Season of Change: 2013 Brunello di Montalcino : The nose was intense with a seductive and earthy mix of tart cherry, saline-minerals, dusty soil and mountainous herbs. On the palate, I found silky-soft textures, yet with zesty acidity providing balance, as dark red berry, spice, leather and mineral tones saturated the senses. The finish was incredibly long, resonating on a core of minerals with hints of fine tannin and persistent red berry fruits lingering long on the senses.
