Stonegarden Wines Shiraz

Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney) : Fresh black hued fruits, a little spice, hints of sweet spice. Juicy, fleshy, blackberry fruit, a little cream, drying but talc textured tannins, fleshy. Nice.

What a wonderful core of blackcurrant and raspberry fruits. There's a whiff of menthol and some smoked meats along with engaging florals. It is a rich and powerful wine but carries no excess weight. The finish is vibrant, has saline minerality and drives on and on.
