Domaine Fontaine du Clos Côtes du Rhône Confidences

This was the last bottle and after last one a few years ago this has seemingly IMHO dropped off a bit. It actually was lost in cellar and decided I better open. Still nicely balanced easy drink but fruits a bit faded and not much complexity.

Solid value CdR with nice balance and soft round tannins, lovely aromas of sweet cherry vanilla, espresso, and medit. herbs translate to a sweet rasp-cherry fruited and spicy palate, consistent w/previous TNs, suspect a couple more years now has this hitting all the right notes, good match with roast lamb and white beans.

From a producer based in Sarrians, northeast of Avignon in the Department of Vaucluse and roughly halfway between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Vacqueyras, this light- to medium-bodied CdR blend of Grenache and Syrah is a solid value at $18 (in Ontario) given its decent complexity, balanced structure, and characteristic southern Rhône appeal. Consistent with previous. Give it a decant and it opens up nicely. Fantastic QPR.

Very nice easy drinking Cdr from WTSO at a good QPR for $13. Pleasant and smooth light-medium body red fruit... wife says strawberry. Good finish and so much better than the Bois Royal Bordeaux we capped after the first glass of that. Wish I'd bought more of these. Pleasant anytime sipper that even went well with flounder fish tacos.

Excellent QPR. Light and easy to drink, as you'd expect from a CdR, but lots going on and not "watery". Got better after decanting.

Uncomplicated and pleasant with red fruits and a little bit of garrigue. Nice food wine at a nice price, it is a great wine to have on hand to keep me from committing infanticide with one of my better bottles.
