John Howard Cellars of Distinction Pinot Noir Megalomaniac Sonofabitch

Very pleasant surprise. I had expected a much lighter wine, but this the fruit is quite expressive without being overly fruity. Good balance and chewy texture. Surprisingly good balance. Very well made Pinot.

Medium ruby, clear and bright in appearance. On the nose, oak, cedar, mushroom, forest floor, bay leaf, tobacco, cloves, cherry. Pepper, cayenne, cherry, unripe plum and green pepper on the pallet. Still a little green with significant green pepper. Med body, med- acid, med tannin, med acid. Cellar min 2 years.
