Notes based on third and final day after opening. Initially it had a sharp, odd after taste but it dissipated quickly. Now, opaque red/purple in glass. Raspberry and underripe strawberry nose. Easy going in the mouth, light red fruit (more raspberry with a bit of plum undertone). Well balanced tannins, short to moderate finish. Went well with meatball, pepper, and mushroom stromboli. Solid table wine.

nose: cranberry, red plum, brush, black pepper. a bit of mud. palate: red fruit all around, and intensely spicy. not quite dry, but pretty well balanced nevertheless. crunchy tannins, beautiful fruity acidity. long searing finish of fruit salad with pepper. distinctive, and the best damn bottle of cheap supermarket wine EVER followup: on the second day it was tastier...on the third it exploded into a decadence of raisin and minerality. quite the best 6 bucks i ever spent!

Not much complexity, but easy to sip on. Brought to a gathering and people generally liked it. Decent value for the price. Buy again: Yes

I mean, this is definitely the best bottle you'll find at your supermarket for $6.

Gave my wife a nasty headache. Damn you, cheap wine with a rooster and chicken on the label!!!

An official Air France in-flight wine. Probably not a bad choice pricewise for the airline, but travellers could definitely enjoy something better from the vast choice of French reds. Taste is inexpressive, blunt, no oak notes, generally watery and dull. Nothing outstanding. Maybe good for cooking and marinating, never tried though.

cheers, if you like Rhone wines, which is the everyday wine for many French people, this wine represents an incredible value for the price. I prefer this over many $20 bottles out there.

sweet strawberry, pepper, good tension. No oak!! Excellent QPR (as usual). Used it to marinate some steaks but am enjoying what's left. This is the wine to order when faced with typical extortionately priced BC, Canada restaurant wine lists (where it will typically go for $25!!)

Very tasty for an inexpensive French red. I've had previous vintages of La Vieille Ferme, and this 2011 is as good as any of those. Last night it really hit the spot for a mid-week wine. Fruit, mild spice, delicate, but not thin.

Nose redolent of banana, brush, sour apple, strawberry, pepper. Bright cherry and raspberry on the palate, some nuttiness, and an herbal edge with a singing acid streak of spice lingering and finishing over time. Soft and fruity, but with some spice and natural tannin. Decent simple wine! Certainly more Grenache-influenced. If one enjoys cheap Spanish, French, and American Grenache, there is a benefit in trying this. This seems to be an object of complaint and belittlement, but it is a …

I think previous vintages were better. This is okay for $12, lighter in body, easy fruit but I wish there was more spice or pepper. The finish is kind of bitter which I don't like.

Perfectly average, non-offensive or brilliant in any way. To anyone coming into this bottle with great expectation @ $6 bottle, don't expect more that what you paid for.

This wine is terrible... a bit of grape juice and alcohol blended together - poorly. Zero structure.

Thank goodness it was free! But a gift from the Inn at Perry Cabin? No chance...embarrassing as an anniversary gift from a "5" star property. Wouldn't serve it at a pizza party....

ruby, super-clear with light rims. nose: fresh, dark fruits - rather aggressive. taste: soft, plummy with light tanins. quite correct but really nothing to remember.
