Smashed mature strawberries, lots of herbs, light leather and blood orange. Light as a feather with some early maturity. Super fine tannins and good acidity. This was a very good bottle. Perfect phase right now imo.

Stood up for several days. Decanted in morning for 1h then back into bottle. Almost no sediment. Brought to birthday party in evening. From memory. Nice palate of juicy red cherries, green stems, minerals, herbs. Light-med body with excellent acids. Excellent. Will try to hold last bottle until it's 15 to to get a handle on aging curve. But drinking really well now.

Stood up for 1 wk and decanted off fine sediment for 1h then back into bottle. Now 4h after decant. Nice aromas of ripe red cherries, mild VA, herbs, green stems, and bark. Palate w just ripe cherries, greens and brown stems, mild+ tannins on midpalate, herbs, and a bit of medicinal bark. Nice acids w elegant texture. Nice long finish of fruit, stems, and mild+ tannins. This has mellowed a bit with a few years of age. There’s still a tart cranberry thing going on in the aromas but on the palate it’s rounded out and softer, more integrated There’s some pyrazines here, which to me give the impression of pine needles. Good stuff that is drinking well right now. A little sad this was my last bottle.

No in depth notes, from memory. No significant changes since last note. Didn't impress me as much though, a bit austere and thin on the mid palate and mostly driven by structure instead of fruit. Could be a matter of bottle variation.

Really hit the spot. Performed just as I expected in this cold spring context, and worked just as great as expected w Buttermilk Channel’s Warm Lamb Salad. Some VA for sure, but everything to my liking and desperately wish I had more. Blood orange, radicchio, smoky black earthy asphalt, sweet talc/papier d’Arménie. Aging in a NSG sorta way—getting a bit Chevillon/washed rind cheesy.

Savory and mildly volatile on the nose with tangy red fruits, blood orange, clove and hints of mushroom and bouillon. Just very pleasant and bright without being too domesticated. In a beautiful place at the moment. Bright, ethereal and complex. Weightless balance with low alcohol and no bitter greenness, a bit like an excellent Jura poulsard. Highly enjoyable!

Lovely, nuanced wine. Remarkable for a German red and a singular expression of pinot noir. This is a wine for those who appreciate subtlety - nothing like the modern styles of pinot noir. Light color, brilliant and not very expressive at the outset. It improves over an hour becoming more complex, but always understated. Needs the big Riedel glass to fully appreciate it.

In my opinion, this is an archetypical example of an "emperor's new clothes" type of wine... or in other words: "the world's most expensive lingonberry juice". Hyped, yes! Worth the bucks....no! I find this wine ridiculously one-dimensional. Will not buy any more wine from this producer.

A completely rocking wine that destroys many 1er cru red Burgundy out there at less $. Tons of sandalwood, red cherries, raspberries, a little smokiness, and some oak spice. This is really elegant, delicate, impeccably balanced, and concentrated for it's 12% ABV, will age for a long time, and is so interesting. An absolute re-buy.

The '14 Muschelkalk reveals none of the vintage difficulties of the '14 Liaison. Quite uptight on the nose, but perfectly clean, and showing remarkable elegance with its finely tuned, ethereal aromas such as shimmering chalk, red berries, orange zest, sandalwood, and grape stems. The palate is fairly light-bodied, yet focused and intense, with light yet firm grip, low alcohol, and serious length.
